Congratulations to Sr. P.O. Rachel Hernandez, this year's 2025 Labita Challenge champion. Across the board, the shooting skills were impressive. Especially impressive were our "5 in the dot crew." Females ruled this year as P.O. Yerlyn Caba-Garcia took 2nd place and Sr. P.O. Ada Bradley was the 3rd place winner. Congratulations to all who qualified to participate in this challenge! The Probation DV-Unit/Suffolk County DA’s Office DV unit had a great outing at the Battle of the Bags Kickball for a Cause tournament. I must say when we were first invited to join up with the ADA’s team my expectations for our success were measured. The rumor was that the Sheriff’s Department had try-outs for their team. The 5th Annual Tunnel to Towers bike ride took place on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Dan Buckley organized this event with help from Angela Minichiello. Manning the grill was Russ Clowes, Dave Spreckels, Damian Rutkowski and Benjamin Clowes. Despite the grim weather and occasional torrential downpours, the day turned out to be a great one. We had a great turnout, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had some amazing food and a great mix of attendees. A special nod to those intrepid folks who actually got on bicycles and braved the weather to do the ride.
This year over $15,000.00 was raised — our best year yet!
